Did you know productivity is proportional to happiness? This is the reason why you get stressed about work, get anxious and can’t get things done.
But, there are little factors like emails, Facebook and WhatsApp notifications every now and then, chit-chats with colleagues – these seem pretty little and not so harmful, but when combined can lead to stress and low productivity.

In this mad race, it’s not easy to keep up, keep updated and be at the top of your game all the time. So, today I’ll break down some of the key tips to be productive at work or what you do for a living. Let’s go!
1. Change Email Time
First half is considered to be the golden hour of the working day. So, invest your first half or peak hours of your day to do something productive and check your emails or write back emails in the afternoon, or during lunch hours, so as to save time.
2. Stay Happy
It sounds unreasonable, I know. But, no matter what you do, where you go, just be happy. Begin writing your everyday planners with the things you’re grateful for in life. These things need not be huge, but they can be as little as having basic facilities in life, like food, house to live and to a steady job for a living. Just stay happy!
3. Plan Your Day
Why do entrepreneurs and big businesses emphasize on planning? Because planning beforehand saves hell lot of time, keeps you ready in advance and reduces your stress, thereby making you more productive at work.
You can even set your daily goals or to-do list and prioritize your work accordingly.
4. Early to bed, early to rise!
This is the highly understated phrase but it’s quite true in every way. Those who wake up early and start their early, are more prone to achieving gold, and become successful compared to others.
The early risers can make the best use of their time by doing some yoga or planning their day, scheduling the daily tasks or spend some extra time with family. They (early risers) eventually get a head start and usually find happiness and productivity compared to others.
5. Cherish Tiny Victories
Yes, that’s right. Every time you finish off a task from your to-do list or daily task list, do a little happy dance or simply celebrate that tiny victory. This will motivate you to work more and perform better time and again and with time, you’ll become more productive than before.
6. Schedule/Automate Stuff
Wasting your precious time in doing things that don’t really excite you and that are not so important, makes no sense. Period. Rather, you should identify the tasks or stuff that you can leverage it out to an assistant or one of your team members.
For example, you can schedule a post for a particular day and time, so you don’t need to be present there to do it yourself. If you can’t do these extra things yourself, the hire someone to take care of your business needs, while you can focus on the important stuff and be more productive.
7. Get Enough Sleep
Getting sound sleep is sometimes not enough. In order to work properly and become productive at work, you should make sure that you have enough hours of sleep that your body needs everyday. Besides the sound sleep, take some time out and indulge yourself in activities like a walk, or a run, or some workouts (once a week). Make sure your mind is relaxed along with your body, before you put in those hours at work the next day!
8. Follow Your Passion
We all have heard it a million times by now. But how many of us actually do that? But you must identify the line between work that you do for a living, and the work that you’re passionate about. Once you identify the distinction between the two, then it boost happiness from within and you become happy at what you do.
And you know what they say, “A happy mind is a productive mind”…!

9. Put Timers for Every Task
For every task on your to-do list, every task on your planner, keep a timer for all to keep a track of your valuable time. For example, devoting 30 minutes for emails, using peaks hours for creative and productive work, can actually help in avoiding time wastage, and even makes you focus on important tasks for the business, instead of Facebook or Instagram.
10. Delete the Interruptions
We all have some or the other colleague who comes in while you’re working and starts talking about something irrelevant and distracts you from work and then it takes over 20 minutes to figure out where you missed and get back on track. Isn’t it?
Not to sound rude, just avoid these kind of interruptions and let people know that you’ve got a lot in your plate and that has to be finished by the end of the day.
11. Evaluate Your Success
It’s advisable and even healthy to check and evaluate your success regularly, in order to check if things are going smooth.
Check if you’re on the right track, if things are getting better, and your progress till now. Thus, keep a track of your progress and evaluate your success to keep being productive for future as well.
